Graphic Design
With a strong foundation in visual storytelling, I bring concepts to life through intentional, purpose-driven design. From branding and marketing materials to digital assets and layout work, I specialize in creating designs that are not only visually engaging but also strategically aligned with client goals. My process is highly collaborative, and I approach each project with creativity, organization, and an eye for detail.
Photography
Photography is where my passion and creativity come to life behind the lens. I strive to capture authentic, compelling moments that tell a story—whether it's for portraits, events, or branded content. My experience ranges from freelance work with individuals and small businesses to large-scale projects that require a trained eye, adaptability, and technical precision.
Leadership
Leadership has always been an essential part of who I am. From managing projects and coordinating recruitment efforts to guiding peers through creative decision-making, I take pride in creating structured, encouraging environments where others can thrive. My roles in organizational leadership have sharpened my communication skills and taught me the value of integrity, responsibility, and forward-thinking vision.

Experiences
National Leadership in FCCLA
Serving as a state and regional officer in Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) gave me one of my earliest introductions to professional leadership and competitive excellence. As South Dakota’s First Vice President and Region VI President, I was responsible for planning conferences, speaking publicly at events, and collaborating with peers from across the nation. I competed in STAR Events and received multiple gold medals at both the state and national level.
These experiences challenged me to step outside my comfort zone, think on my feet, and represent others with confidence and integrity. Being part of a national leadership network during high school laid the foundation for the strong communication and time management skills I carry into every opportunity today.
Varsity Tennis & State Championships
As a four-year varsity tennis player, I learned how to perform under pressure, support teammates, and stay mentally tough. I earned multiple state medals across singles and doubles, including a 2nd-place finish at the state level and Metro Championship titles. Competing at such a high level required long hours of training, balancing academics with athletics, and learning how to lead by example on and off the court.
Tennis taught me how to set goals and work toward them with grit and patience. It also helped me develop a competitive mindset that thrives in structured environments—something that now translates directly into my design work for athletic teams and my vision for a future career in sports media or marketing.
Creative Leadership in Chi Omega
In college, my leadership journey continued in Chi Omega, where I’ve held multiple executive roles including Director of Recruitment Operations and Facility Administrator. These positions placed me at the center of organizing large-scale events, managing logistics, overseeing facility needs, and supporting my sisters through major chapter initiatives. I also served as a creative co-chair for both Homecoming and Greek Week, designing visuals and leading collaborative design teams.
Being a part of Chi Omega has strengthened my ability to manage people, projects, and creative outcomes simultaneously. I’ve learned how to guide teams with clarity, communicate under pressure, and keep the bigger picture in focus. Most importantly, it taught me how to lead with empathy while still getting results—something I believe is vital in any creative or professional space.
Design & Photography Work for Iowa State Athletics
Working simultaneously on both the Graphic Design Creative Services team and the Athletics Marketing team at Iowa State University has been a defining part of my college experience. By the time I graduate, I will have spent three years designing for Division I athletic teams and one year capturing content as a student photographer—giving me a unique perspective on how design and storytelling work together in the world of sports. I've developed branding assets, social graphics, and merchandise while also photographing athletes, games, and behind-the-scenes moments for marketing campaigns.
Juggling both roles has helped me grow not only as a creative, but also as a collaborator and communicator. I’ve learned how to move between digital design and live content creation while staying aligned with team goals and brand standards. This dynamic, high-energy environment has confirmed that athletics is where I thrive—bringing together my passion for storytelling, sports, and strategic creative execution.
Launching Miss Grace Starr
Starting my own freelance business, Miss Grace Starr, was a huge turning point for me. I’ve offered both graphic design and photography services for a variety of clients, managing everything from brand consultations to content creation and client communications. Taking full ownership of projects—from ideation to final delivery—has helped me sharpen my creative decision-making and business management skills.
Running my own business gave me real-world experience in delivering results, setting expectations, and building client relationships. It also taught me how to trust my instincts, push my creativity, and continue refining my craft. This entrepreneurial experience has given me the confidence to navigate any creative space I enter.

I’m passionate about creating designs and campaigns that not only reflect the energy of sports but also build deeper connections between teams, athletes, and their communities.
